3rd Annual Gary (Indiana) Int'l Film Fest Set To Roll 10/18-20 w/ 'Blue Caprice,' 'Mother Of George'

Third Annual Gary International Black Film Festival (GIBFF)
all set to take place this month, running Oct.
to the 20th..

Offering a lineup of drama, documentary and short films,
the festival opens with Blue Caprice
starring Isaiah Washington. Along
with an opening night reception, Ron Simons, one of the producers of Caprice, a 2-time Tony
winner and the president of SimonSays
, will be in person for a post-screening discussion following
the film.

Additional films
slated for the fest include: a Women in
The Director’s Chair
panel discussion, featuring Chicago-based filmmaker Barbara Allen and her Emmy nominated documentary Colorblind: Rethinking Race, along with Victoria Mahoney’s Yelling To the Sky.

Also screening at the festival is Andrew Dosunmu’s Mother of George as well as The Magic City, the coming
of age tale that takes a closer look at the foster care system.

Scheduled to close the festival will be Gary native Charles Murray’s intense romance drama, Things Never Said, with Murray in person back in his hometown
for a discussion afterward.

The festival will take place at Indiana University NW 3400 Broadway, Gary, IN.
