Paul Feig is one cool guy. The director of hits “The Heat” and “Bridesmaids” recently spoke with Cinema Blend, revealing that he’s working on a gay romantic comedy and would love Channing Tatum attached to star. UPDATE: Not so fast, counters Vulture. Tatum was just pie-in-the-sky casting.
Set in the movie is John Milhiser, one of the latest additions to the new SNL cast. Reportedly the story centers on an Average Joe (Milhiser, we’re guessing) whose self-esteem and confidence are tested when he gets romantically involved with a super sexy, super cool Dream Guy (Tatum, we’re guessing).
No title or word yet on a proposed production start. As the Playlist points out, the (admittedly very inchoate) plot synopsis sounds a bit cliche. But, then again, so did the concept of an adrift woman tested by the onset of her best friend’s wedding, and “Bridesmaids” turned out brilliantly.
