That Was Fast! After Just 3 Episodes, FOX Renews 'Sleepy Hollow' For A 2nd Season

Well, that didn’t take very long nor much convincing did it?

Just 3 episodes into its debut season, FOX has announced a 13-episode second season renewal for its new hit series Sleepy Hollow, which Nicole Beharie and Orlando Jones both star in.

This news, I believe, marks the the fist new series renewal this fall season.

Sleepy Hollow’s premiere episode drew an astounding 10.1 million viewers, and a 3.5 rating, making it the #1 primetime drama on that night in the adults 18-49 demo, as well as FOX’s highest rated fall drama premiere in 6 years, and on any broadcast network in one year, knocking off NBC’s Revolution from that slot.

Episode 3 saw about a 20% dip in viewership from episode 1, drawing roughly 8 million viewers, and a 3.0 rating.

Somewhere right now, I’m sure Beharie and Jones are doing some kind of a happy dance!

Certainly a vote of confidence from FOX, seemingly convinced that the current level of interest in the series will hold, if not increase.

“The show has proven to be a risk well worth taking – it’s a conceptual blast unlike anything else on television and it all holds together with inventive writing and a fantastic cast,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “I can’t wait for fans to experience what else is in store for this fall and even more of this wild ride into Season Two.”

I am so happy. Next week I will be attending the panel at New York Comic Con with a smile.

I love it! First scene, someone got beheaded. I was HOOKED lol but it's good. I like that there's a common theme, but the myth's played on on "the monster of the week". Refreshing.

I'm excited! I tell everyone I know about it!

So happy for them. I LOVE this show — and Hostages! It's good to finally have something to look forward to watching on Monday night. The concept of the program is what drew me in. Mison, Beharie and Jones, along with the writing and storylines are what keep me watching.
It's a really fun, historical meets contemporary meeting of the minds. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

I am so excited. Love the show and the entire cast. Tom Mison is awesome and he is definitely the right lead actor for this series. Nicole is great as Lt.Mills. The viewership drop has alot to do with them slowing down on the action and trying to develop the characters in these last two episodes and give more explanation as to the background behind the characters. The pilot was great but it had alot of information packed in to one hour. I had to go back and rewatch the pilot to make sure I understood about the two different witch covens:the bad witches vs the good witches and all the small details that make the show great. Congrats to them.

Pretty sure it's been three episodes…

I think you'll find the draw for this series is Tom Mison.
