Watch Trailer For Kevin Grevioux’s CGI Overloaded Orgy, 'I, Frankenstein'

We’ve previously written about
actor/writer/producer Kevin Grevioux, the guy who originally created the concept
for the Underworld film franchise.and many other things.

And the really great thing about Grevioux is that he’s
always thinking “outside the box” that they usually want to put black writers and
filmmakers in, instead of creating his own fantasy, supernatural, horror projects.

The bad news is that when they wind up looking like his upcoming I, Frankenstein – starring Aaron Eckhart – then, dare I say, I would rather watch Baggage Claim instead.

Grevioux, who wrote the film, is one of the executive
producers and has a role in it as well, has been developing the project for some time, and
when I first heard about it, I was thinking it was going to be a unique and gruesome
twist on the classic, old horror story.

Well that’s what I hoped.

Instead, from this just released trailer, it’s going to be yet another one of those bloated CGI porno orgy “tentpole” movies, that barely has
any relation to Mary Shelly’s classic novel, and is designed mainly to be the
first of a Lionsgate-keeping-its-fingers-crossed franchise, raking in tons of money.

It’s all empty and boring razzle dazzle, with no substance
and instantly forgettable. And, of course, it’s a safe, castrated PG-13-rated movie to boot, which
means it’s going to be frantically ADD edited, within an inch of its life, during the action
and fight sequences, but with no blood, no gore, no fun.

You’ve seen it all before, 1000 times, and you can predict
every single thing that happens up to its ambiguous ending, setting the film up
for possible sequels.

When are they going to start realizing that every moviegoer
is not some coke-bottle-glasses-wearing 14 year old bullied in school kid, with adenoids – although I have to believe that even they are
tired of this crap too as well.

It didn't seem so bad, why all the hate? I'll definitely download when it's released on blu-ray. Of I skipped right to the trailer before reading the article, and I kept waiting for Frankenstein to turn black, but I guess that might have been too CGI for this movie.

I like the trailer, big hot CGI mess in a good way, and it's good news to have a movie starring, ahem, "mainstream" actors be written by someone considered part of a specialty audience. It will be a hit for the bootleggers who sell on the sidewalk in my area. Hope that counts when Hollywood does their numbers…

I've read this article front to back, five times at least. And I still don't see any information related to where the orgy will be held, if it's too late to participate, or if blood tests are required. Can somebody help me, please? I don't want to miss this.

Damn bro you got your venom on for this project. I can't say I'm really interested in it, and no it doesn't look like it has shit to do with Frankenstein but it doesn't look much worst than any other middle of the road hollywoood fantasy/action hybrid. Shit you want more interesting things from black filmmakers, so do I but have you made a studio film before? Do you know how hard it is to pull an original idea through that machine? Do you know that a writer/producer usually has very little to do with the trailer for a studio film? Kevin may not be the filmmaker we want but he could open doors for that person or project when it comes along. I ain't saying you need to support it or love it, but this is the trailer man, maybe go see the film and then write a review, before you predict everything about it and use your forum to persuade people not to see it.

This might seem funny to say, but I honestly hope this does well at the box office regardless if it turns out to be good or bad. I'm an indie film fan through and through but a least there's another light that's saying we as a people are slowly breaking through to the industry. Kevin is an African American Male who is "commercially" seen as physically and vocally imposing. These are things that people usually discriminate against, not to mention being black. I've read up on his history/interviews and he seems to be an extremely intelligent human being.
1. Lionsgate is willing to distribute a brother with a medium-blockbuster size production budget.
2. He ADAPTED HIS OWN COMIC BOOK INTO A WIDELY RELEASED BIG-BUDGET FLICK!!
What?!! When does that happen?

How many black producers have been able to even get in the same room as execs who are willing to write a budget check like this one? Who'd even listen to a pitch? A handful…MAYBE.
Lionsgate is cool in my book.
Am I a huge fan of Underworld and explosions-for-days-multiplex-cinema? Not really… But I'm still happy for him.

And yes, I'm gonna be standing in line for tickets just like I was for Pariah.

I don't know what's more tired: a CGI-laden fantasy action film, or Sergio's 1980s image of nerds?

Talking about a Mandingo of a man…. saw him on an episode of Face Off on SyFy, and that voice.
