First Images Of Shailene Woodley, Eva Green & Gabourey Sidibe In Gregg Araki's 'White Bird In A Blizzard'

It’s almost hard to believe but in less than two months all eyes will be on the Sundance Film Festival where an entire year’s worth of new indies will be unveiled for everyone to get excited for in 2014. While the lineup has yet to be revealed it’s probably a safe bet that Gregg Araki‘s next effort, “White Bird In A Blizzard” will be there. Once again he brings together a fascinating cast for an unlikely tale.

The film, which is based on the book by Laura Kasischke, stars Shailene WoodleyEva GreenGabourey SidibeShiloh Fernandez, Christopher Meloni and more and tells the story of a teenage girl and her coming-of-age, during which her mother mysteriously disappears one day. Here’s the synopsis from the book:

When Katrina Connors’ mother walks out on her family, Kat is surprised but not shocked; the whole year she has been “becoming sixteen” – falling in love with the boy next door, shedding her babyfat, discovering sex – her mother has been slowly withdrawing. As Kat and her impassive father pick up the pieces of their daily lives, she finds herself curiously unaffected by her mother’s absence. But in dreams that become too real to ignore, she’s haunted by her mother’s cries for help. Finally, she must act on her instinct that something violent and evil has occurred – a realization that brings Kat to a chilling discovery.

The first images point to something both surreal and sexy, which seems about right for Araki. No distributor or dates for this one just yet, but we’re guessing we’ll hear more about this one soon. [ONTD via Up And Comers]

Gabourey Sidibe is proving a lot of people in Hollywood wrong. After Precious, people including Howard Stern felt like she would have a hard time getting roles because of how she looks. But she have prove that she can get cast in roles despite her weight or how she looks, and that her talent overshadow her psychical features

I'm pretty sure they shouldn't have included the image of Shailene standing in front of an ominous open chest freezer, crying in a movie with the plot synopsis being about the sudden mysterious disapperance of her mother.
But that is just speculation. They wouldn't give away the ending. And I don't know anything about it so maybe that's revealed in the first half hour that her mother was killed, cut up and put in a freezer.
Anyway, it's a cool picture. Movie sounds good.

Don't really care about Shailene but it's about damn time Eva Green comes back.

I can't wait to see this one!

Cue the guy who wants to bugger the bee in the bonnet or whatever the fack that Englishman is on about.

I didn't even know this existed. I'm very interested.
