Lionsgate Likes 'The Angriest Man in Brooklyn,' Starring Robin Williams, Mila Kunis, Peter Dinklage and Melissa Leo

Lionsgate has snapped up North American rights to Phil Alden
Robinson’s comedy-drama “The Angriest Man in Brooklyn,” starring Robin Williams
as a man informed while at the hospital that he only has 90
minutes to live. Mila Kunis, Melissa Leo, Peter Dinklage and Hamish Linklater
also star.

The film is penned by Daniel Taplitz. It was shot on
location in Brooklyn last fall.

Here’s the official synopsis:

THE ANGRIEST MAN IN BROOKLYN is the story of Henry Altmann
(Williams), who is having a horrible day, made much worse by his visit with Dr.
Sharon Gill (Kunis), who abruptly informs him that he only has 90 minutes to
live.  After storming out of the hospital
in disbelief, Henry panics and races through Brooklyn in an attempt to right all
of the wrongs in his life, while Sharon desperately scrambles to find him and
get him into surgery.

Williams is having a career resurgence at the moment, with advertising-world comedy “The Crazy Ones” a solid hit on CBS’s fall TV slate, also starring Linklater. Kunis was last seen in the mighty “Oz the Great and Powerful,” and has Paul Haggis’ “Third Person,” just picked up by Sony Pictures Classics, coming up. Aside from “Game of Thrones,” which has its fourth season bowing in 2014, Dinklage can be seen in next summer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Leo was in this fall’s “Prisoners.”

No word yet on a stateside release date for “Angriest Man.”
