Inspired by a true story, the indie film tells the tale of a tragic car accident that sends a confident yet rebellious teen spiraling downward into the grim injustice of the juvenile penal system, where he encounters brutal conflicts and life-affirming friendships, ultimately finding self-forgiveness and renewed hope.
No word yet on what characters Epps, Grant and Thought will play, but we do know that Emory Cohen (who last appeared in the drama Four with Wendell Pierce) will play the lead.
John Leguizamo is also a member of the ensemble cast.
Mark Wahlberg is one of the executive producers.
Writer/director Bradley Kaplan is making the leap from documentary to narrative filmmaking with the film.
