They Will Kill Us: First Clip From 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire'

Of the many things being promised in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire“—bigger, better, more financially lucrative—is smoother camerawork thanks to Francis Lawrence‘s decision to forgo handheld. The result? Well, watching this first clip from the sequel, you won’t get motion sickness.

In this brief scene, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Gale (Liam Hemsworth) are once again gorgeously furrowing their brows at each other as they make an important decision, with the Hunger Games victor noting with gravitas that, “they will kill us.” Then some giant, expensive, probably product placement jeeps or whatever roll by. Snark aside, this certainly does feel more cinematic, though perhaps lacks the immediacy of the Gary Ross’ approach. But what do the fans have to say? Let us know below.

Definitely more cinematic clearly they were conservative with the budget for the first one because they weren't sure how the whole kids killing each other thing would go over and it was a risk for lionsgate. Now they know that people will see it so they double the budget great job lionsgate. All the previews and clips look real close to the book and if they keep everything from the book especially the controversial stuff the word of mouth could propel this over 500 million domestic.
