There are all kinds of avenues these days for directors and stars to do some quick work these days, so enter Vogue magazine, who have commissioned director Matthew Frost for a series of shorts. And the prestige of the magazine has allowed them to land a couple of big names to get it off the ground.
Jessica Chastain and Kate Winslet to star in the two brief films—”Scripted Content” and “Best Actress Of All Time“—that as you might guess, play on the notion of celebrity. “When you make a short, the connotation is typically that it’s a weird festival film that you have to sit down and watch for fifteen minutes, and it’s a little awkward, you know? But there are more and new ways to communicate online for brands and magazines, so it’s a good opportunity for filmmakers to use that space,” Frost told Vogue about his approach. “I like a minute to three minutes, tops. What can you do in one take? What can you do in two takes? Can I make this idea happen? It’s invigorating because you’re not in a comfort zone.” Check out the results below.
