Is J. August Richards Going To Become A Permanent S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent? Preview Tonight's Episode

In what the network is calling “a shocking cliffhanger episode” titled The Bridge, Mike Peterson, the character played by J. August Richards in the very first episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and whom we haven’t seen since then, will return to provide “super-soldier” support for Agent Coulson.

That episode airs tonight, Tuesday, December 10. And based on the preview below, the question that begs to be asked is whether Mike Peterson is joining the S.H.I.E.L.D. permanently to become one of the agents and maybe bring some new excitement and freshness to the series.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.

Previously, Ruth Negga and Pascale Armand both guest-starred in episodes of the series.

The Bridge was written by Shalisha Francis and directed by Holly Dale.

I'm normally into shows like this, but something about this show I can't seem to watch. Maybe I will one day . . . I think its the makeup of the team, it came off as bland initially. Maybe if they add a bit of color and interesting and complex characters I'll give it a try.

I have really enjoyed most episodes of the show as it shows the brains behind the braw. I personally didn't want mini Marvel movies on a weekly basis but to see what goes on with S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who aren't "super heroes" However, as a Whedonverse fan I am happy to see "Gunn" again. I'm 40 minutes in to the show and worry it won't be a permanent position as it refers to his son a lot. I do wish they'd kill off pretty boy Ward and give us a solid character. Richards is talented enough to bring a strong character (not just muscles) to the show. Oops kid's in danger- got to go!!

I'm not into the whole superhero thing so I don't understand who these "agents of shield" are? Do they protect the superheros or something? I just don't get it. Do the agents have superpowers? What's the point of all this?

I'm watching tonight and will stick with it if he does. But it's truly been a disappointment thus far.
