Lars von Trier's 'Nymphomaniac' Gets US Release Dates from Magnolia

Magnolia has announced the stateside release dates for Lars von Trier’s hotly anticipated “Nymphomaniac.” It will be broken up into two films, with “Nymphomaniac Part 1” hitting theaters March 21, 2014 (and VOD March 6), and “Part 2” arriving on April 18, 2014 (and VOD April 3).

“Part 1” runs 110 minutes, and “Part 2” runs 130 minutes.

Here are the official synopses:

NYMPHOMANIAC: PART ONE is the story of Joe (Charlotte
Gainsbourg
), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who is discovered badly beaten in an
alley by an older bachelor, Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), who takes her into
his home. As he tends to her wounds, she recounts the erotic story of her
adolescence and young-adulthood (portrayed in flashback by Stacy Martin). PART
ONE also stars Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Sophie Kennedy
Clark, Connie Nielsen and Udo Kier.

PART TWO picks up with the story of Joe’s adulthood, and
stars Jamie Bell, Willem Dafoe, Mia Goth and Jean-Marc Barr in addition to
Gainsbourg, Skarsgård, Martin and LaBeouf.

The film world premieres in Denmark on December 25. In the meantime, check out the film’s terrific trailer (NSFW), and its series of naughty characters posters.
