Upcoming Nigerian Comedy Feature Addresses 'African Time' (Trailer, Poster)

In case you weren’t aware, “CP time” isn’t solely an African American thing. It’s an African diaspora “phenomenon,” and it will be at the center of an upcoming new Nigerian comedy feature, aptly titled African Time.

Written and directed by Chijindu Kelechi Eke, the film takes on a phrase which, as the filmmaker puts it, is used to describe the casual attitude that Africans exhibit towards time.
Futher…
It seems to have become a part of African culture in that most African events tend begin a few hours after the specified start time. This becomes frustrating to those Africans that like to be punctual. Ironically, many Africans that are late to various social events are seldom late to work and other self-benefiting engagements. This story humorously uses different events to explore the habit of late coming among Africans. While addressing some of the challenges that several Africans face with being on time, the story also unveils how to combat the infamous African Time.
The film stars Kelechi Eke, Syr Law, Chero Leitich, Yaz Ibekwe, and Ike Eziefule.
Tasia Grant, Kalina de Moura, Delpaneaux Wills and the director, Chijindu Kelechi Eke, round out the cast.
The Bigobi-produced film will be released during the first half of 2014.
