Running times don’t really mean anything until they make their presence felt. Which is why even with Martin Scorsese‘s “The Wolf Of Wall Street” clocking in just a shade under three hours making it his longest film, folks are more concerned about numbing their butts in December with “The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug.” Peter Jackson‘s latest jaunt to Middle Earth will apparently spread out over two hours and forty minutes, and if it’s anything like ‘An Unexpected Journey,’ it means there will a lot of moments when you wish things were moving along a bit quicker.
Regardless, an epic runtime is what you get from a Peter Jackson movie, so there’s no point complaining about it now, and with ‘Smaug’ coming next week, a few more peeks at the movie are here. First off, four clips from the movie providing a mere fraction of what you’ll see in cinemas, along with a handful of new images which, again, will pare in comparison to breadth of what’s coming. After that, an eight-minute long take down of “The Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring,” going through everything wrong with Jackson’s celebrated movie.
