2014 Golden Globe Predictions: Best Comedy/Musical Actor

2014 Golden Globe Predictions: Best Comedy/Musical Actor

Indiewire will provide regular updates of our predictions for the
Golden Globe Awards through January 12th, when the winners are announced.

This is perhaps the most staggering lineup this category has ever seen, with any five of these men a sure thing to win in any other year. But not this year, where its probably down to Bruce Dern vs. Leonardo DiCaprio (with Bale having an outside shot).

Our take below. Check out all predictions in all the categories here.

The nominees:
Christian Bale – “American Hustle”
Bruce Dern – “Nebraska”
Leonardo DiCaprio – “The Wolf Of Wall Street”
Oscar Isaac – “Inside Llewyn Davis”
Joaquin Phoenix – “Her”

Will win: Bruce Dern – “Nebraska”
Could win: Leonardo DiCaprio – “The Wolf Of Wall Street”
Should win: Oscar Isaac – “Inside Llewyn Davis”
Shoulda been here: Ethan Hawke – “Before Midnight”

Agreed. I see nothing special about DiCaprio's performance from the trailer, I see him playing himself as usual.

I predict in no particular order:
Bruce Dern, Nebraska
Joaquin Phoenix, Her
Oscar Isaac, Inside Llewyn Davis
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Don Jon
James Gandolfini, Enough Said

Johnny Depp actually deserved that nomination. He was pretty great and funny in The Tourist.

Dicaprio's performance doesn't look good at all and he's just playing himself so why is the people are predicting him is beyond me.
