2014 Golden Globe Predictions: Best Comedy/Musical Actress

Indiewire will provide regular updates of our predictions for the
Golden Globe Awards through January 12th, when the winners are announced.

The Golden Globes done good here, going indie with a trio of extremely well deserved performances as yet quite unsung this awards season: Julie Delpy, Greta Gerwig and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Too bad none of them are winning as this race is very much the Amy vs. Meryl show.

Our take below. Check out all predictions in all the categories here.

The nominees:
Amy Adams – “American Hustle”
Julie Delpy – “Before Midnight”
Greta Gerwig – “Frances Ha”
Julia Louis-Dreyfus – “Enough Said”
Meryl Streep – “August: Osage County”

Will win: Amy Adams – “American Hustle”
Could win: Meryl Streep – “August: Osage County”
Should win: Julie Delpy – “Before Midnight”
Shoulda been here: With these nominations, I’ll abstain complaining.

Amy Adams was amazing in American Hustle, even better than Jennifer Lawrence, she is really overrated! Lupita Ngong'O should win Best Supporting Actress!

Amy Adams is an excellent actress but lets be honest here, Meryl Streep is way better than her in August. I think Amy had better roles in the past… this one is not that awesome, the big star in American Hustle is Jennifer Lawrence (I'm talking about the female roles)

Dane

Meryl will win this.

I find it interesting. I too see Amy Adams winning here as well, with Meryl being nominated for the Oscar instead of her.
