Slamdance Film Festival Honors Alumnus Christopher Nolan with Inaugural Founder's Award

Christopher Nolan’s career may have skyrocketed after resurrecting the
Batman franchise, but his already well-established brand of success is
now going one step further. The Slamdance Film Festival plans to honor the
Academy Award-nominated writer/director with
their own award this year. After having had the screen debut of his
feature film “Following” at Slamdance, Nolan now gets to revisit his
indie roots.

The festival plans to present Nolan with the Slamdance Founder’s Award, now
in its inaugural year, stating that the award is merited for both
the director’s artistic integrity and his firm belief in the power of
independent cinema, which has ultimately proved
to be more than lucrative for Nolan.

The Slamdance Film Festival, now nearing the celebration of its 20th anniversary, runs
concurrently with the Sundance Film Festival, January 17-23 in Park
City, Utah.
