Australian filmmaker David Michôd, who directed and wrote the acclaimed drama “Animal Kingdom,” will direct the first episode of “Flesh and Bone,” a dark ballet series starring newcomer Sarah Hay as a young, troubled ballerina who joins an elite company in New York.
The show is created and executive produced by “Breaking Bad” writer-producer Moira Walley-Beckett and is set to premiere in 2015.
Michôd will also appear later this year as the director of the upcoming drama “The Rover,” which stars Robert Pattinson and Guy Pierce. In terms of his TV work, Michôd previously directed an episode of HBOs acclaimed (but cancelled) “Enlightened.”
“I’m entirely enamored of the visual, visceral, artful way David tells story,” said Walley-Beckett. “His style and sensibility is very much in alignment with my vision of my show.”
