Project of the Day: ‘Fall to Rise’

Project of the Day: 'Fall to Rise'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Fall to Rise”

Tweetable Logline: Fall to Rise is a feature film starring Daphne Rubin-Vega, Tamara Tunie, Desmond Richardson and Katherine Crockett.

Elevator Pitch: Fall to Rise is a feature film starring Daphne Rubin-Vega, Tamara Tunie, Desmond Richardson and Katherine Crockett. We are raising funds for post production. It’s about a famous principal dancer injures her knee and attempts to settle into motherhood only to realize she is not that great at motherhood… she has no identity without dance, and struggles to return with the help of an equally troubled former company dancer.

Writer/Director: Jayce Bartok (screenwriting debut “The Cake Eaters” starring Kristen Stewart and Bruce Dern)

Production team: Tiffany Bartok, Gill Holland, Patrick Morris, Patricia Beaury

About the Production: This film is a story rarely told about a woman who finds that parenthood does not complete her. It is not often talked about and when it is, it is harshly judged. The lead character, Lauren Drake, is someone we all can relate to weather we care to admit it or not. The dancing and performances in this film are really something special and while we’ve spent years on this project, the time is finally here to share it with it’s audiences.

Current Status: The film is complete except for the color correct and score.
