Aisha Tyler's 'Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation' Heading To TV

In her book Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation, comedian, actress, and cohost of CBS’s daytime hit show The Talk, Aisha Tyler recounts a series of stories of “crushing personal humiliation,” while providing personal insights and wisdom she gathered along the way, from each lesson learned.

And now that book is going to become a TV series, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Specifically, CBS TV Studios has optioned rights to Tyler’s best-seller, with a search for writers underway for what may be a half-hour comedy series.
Reviews of the book I’ve read call it, generally, refreshingly, brutally honest, surprising, and laugh-out-loud funny, offering a strong voice and unique point of view.

Tyler and her management company, ROAR, will executive produce.

I wouldn't say the book was that great. Except for the part about her non-traditional childhood, it was standard comedy memoir fare–about 10 jokes with self-deprecating filler around it. The most important question is who's going to be the lead? The book was mostly about the misadventures of her twenties.
