Box Office Prediction & Analysis: "A Haunted House 2"

Notice anything missing from your local multiplex these last two months?  Hmm, let’s see…kids films?  Check.  Horror offerings?  Check.  Biblical epics? Volcanic eruption movies?  Check and check.  Comedies?  Comedies?  OMG that’s right, we haven’t had a wide appeal comedy since Valentine’s Day.  That was so long ago that guys are undoubtedly back in their wives’/girlfriends’ doghouses again after securing chips by somehow sitting through “Winter’s Tale” or “Endless Love” that weekend.

Good moviegoers of America, there is no need to fear.  The Wayans’ are here.  Or should I say they’re back, in “A Haunted House 2”.  The first “Haunted House” opened to $18M, ending up just topping the $40M threshold.   This time, those knuckleheads are back with Wayans Brothers newbies Jaime Pressley and Gabriel Iglesias, who brings with him an enormous Latino following.  Tracking is strong and while it may not hit that $18M level the original did, it just might come close.
