Trailers from Hell Takes a Swim with Eastwood's Dirty Harry in 'The Dead Pool'

Clint Eastwood Week with Alan Spencer! concludes at Trailers from Hell, with screenwriter Spencer introducing “The Dead Pool.”

The fifth and final film in Eastwood’s “Dirty Harry” series
is memorable for early career appearances by Liam Neeson and Jim Carrey.
Directed by Buddy Van Horn whose remarkably long and action-packed career as a
stunt man (beginning in 1951 with the Byron Haskin western WARPATH) was
sidetracked by three directorial jobs for Eastwood, including DEAD POOL, PINK
CADILLAC and ANY WHICH WAY YOU CAN. Versatile cinematographer Jack Green went
on to provide the uniquely noirish western look for Eastwood’s oscar-winning
UNFORGIVEN.

Trailers from Hell really suffers when it tackles movies made after the early 1970s. At some point, trailers got really dull (or was it the movies themselves that got really dull?).
