Sony‘s marketing department continues to take Marc Webb‘s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” rumored to be well over two hours long, and cut it up into bite sized pieces in the name of selling the movie. But it could have likely the opposite effect of creating fatigue instead of excitement before the movie even hits theatres.
Never ones to doubt the game plan, Sony have spent the last twenty-four hours to push Electro to the fore. He appears in yet another clip from the film and in a new featurette as well. And as these things go, backstory is the name of the game. “In this movie, you get to see the villain [before he’s the villain],” says Jamie Foxx about his baddie. “He’s Max Dillon. Just an electrical guy. He’s sort of a nerd.” Oh, and did you want to know how he becomes Electro? Foxx will spoil that for you too.
“He accidentally falls into this big pool with electric eels, and because of the genetic splicing and everything that’s going on at Oscorp, boom; that’s how Electro is born,” he said.
