FX Sets August Premiere For Martin Lawrence/Kelsey Grammer Comedy Series 'Braddock & Jackson'

Maybe getting lost in all the TV upfront presentations, FX has set a Monday, August 4 premiere date for its new comedy series Braddock & Jackson – the Odd Couple-like project, first announced about a year ago, that Kelsey Grammer and Martin Lawrence are starring in as Chicago lawyers from different backgrounds who form a partnership after they accidentally meet in court on the worst day of their lives. Brought together by fate and greed, they develop a partnership and friendship, forcing each other to find the balance between the ethical and the unscrupulous in both their professional and personal lives.

Daniele Watts co-stars, playing Martin Lawrence’s daughter Laura.

Telma Hopkins, Rory O’Malley, McKaley Miller, and Edi Patterson round out the starring cast.

Bob Boyett and Robert Horn are writing and executive producing.

Previous credits for Boyett and Horn include hits like Family MattersPerfect Strangers, Full HouseLiving Single and Designing Women

FX ordered 10 episodes of the sitcom and, if the series does well over its first 10-episode run, the network will order an additional 90 episodes.

The series will air two back-to-back episodes every Monday for five consecutive weeks.

I'm hesitant. If just because most of the 90s Black comics have geared their careers to being so mainstream friendly that they have lost what made them interesting in the first place. Then, being that I have never seen Frasier, I have no idea who Grammer is, so I can't even form an opinion if he can bring anything to the show.

So did Martin turn Republican or did Kelsey flip to Democrat?

Love Martin and love Kelsey Grammar, looking forward to this!

Sounds interesting!

I love just about anything with Kelsey Grammer… I don't really like Martin Lawrence… but Kelsey G. is going to be in it so I will surely watch..
