Watch: Justin Theroux Struggles With Rapture in New Teaser and Poster for HBO's 'The Leftovers'

Based on the eponymous novel by Tom Perrotta and helmed by “Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof, HBO’s newest series “The Leftovers” has released its key art, a teaser trailer and poster featuring Justin Theroux.

Set to air its premier episode in a 10-episode first season on Sunday, June 29th at 10 p.m., “The Leftovers” follows father and police chief Kevin Garvey as he tries to maintain order in his New York suburb after two percent of the world’s population disappears. Theroux plays Garvey, and the series also stars Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Charlie Carver, Liv Tyler, Max Carver, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Emily Meade, Annie Q, Margaret Qualley, Amanda Warren and  Chris Zylka.

The new trailer, set to a powerful and melancholy rendition of Stevie Nicks’ classic breakup song “Dreams,” shows flashes of the drama and chaos that the show promises. It is entitled “Teaser: The Five Stages,” directing the audience’s attention to the stages of grief, with a focus on depression and anger. “The Leftovers” looks as if it will fit in with HBO’s existing original content, with a gloomy visual style and themes of mystery and instability.

HBO has also released a teaser introducing fans to Kevin’s voice, and a full treatment that truly sets up the violence and chaos of the violence.
