What If 'Trainspotting' Were Directed by Godard? 'Drive' by John Ford? These Cool Posters Reimagine Movies in the Past

John Ford would never have directed a film like DRIVE. Nor would he, Gable or Tracy have had the patience to deal with James Dean. One day on the set with them and he would have been fired, Jack Warner's pleas notwithstanding. The mind boggles at the drugs Selznick, Warner, Louis B. Mayer and Darryl Zanuck were taking in this supremely twisted alternate universe. Still, as hallucinatory cinematic fever dreams go, these are most intriguing. I've had dreams of movies like these. And when I was a teenager I used to draw imaginary movie posters with equally bizarre juxtapositions of famous names and peculiarly late '60s genres. I need to dig those old drawings out and scan them and put them up on my blog.
