Indiewire will provide regular updates of our predictions through August 25th, when the winners will be announced.

“Veep” got some more acting love, “Orange is the New Black” slipped into one more top category race, and Allison Janney will be looking to earn her first Emmy for comedy in the 2014 Outstanding Supporting Actress race. Sofia Vergara, Modern Family
Merritt Weaver, Nurse Jackie

Who will win: Julie Bowen (Modern Family)
Who could win: Allison Janney (Mom)
Who should win: Julie Bowen (Modern Family)
Who should be here: Anna Chlumsky (Veep) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation)

Betty White could be back for Hot in Cleveland.

Hi! I am UEFL, a television critic. Now, the comedy category has proved themselves worthier than the Dramas after last year's 30 Rock got more nominations than any show, as well as 30 Rock holding the record for most nominations in a given year for any show: 22. So, unless Modern Family gets all their cast nominated, they will never beat this record. Last year, I was suprised by Merritt Weaver winning, thinking Mayim Bialik had it in the bag. But, here are my predictions, spoils and then the perfect worlds!

1) Allison Janey, Mom (She has it in her purse)
2) Mayim Bialik, Big Bang Theory (Long overdue, but perfect)
3) Julie Bowen, Modern Family (This season gave her a whole new meaning, AWESOME)
4) Anna Chlumsky, Veep (Should be here, or else)
5) Merritt Weaver, Nurse Jackie (Edie Falco and she carries the great show)
6) Sofia Vergara, Modern Family (She was great this season)

Anyone from Trophy Wife
Either Sarah Hyland or Alex Winter from Modern Family (Finally, they submitted this year)
Anyone from Orange Is The New Black (Uzo Aduba and Kate Mulgrew are huge spoilers)
Anyone from Brooklyn Nine-Nine

In A Good World

Anyone from Devious Maids
Betty White, Hot In Cleveland
Anyone from Saturday Night Live

I would say Ariel Winter from Modern Family is also a strong contender this year, most notably in the episode "Under Pressure"

Chelsea Peretti for Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Uzo Aduba, Crazy Eyes

Uzo Aduba OITNB

What about Melissa Fumero on Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Seamlessly going from a soap opera and guest appearances in crime dramas to being a total natural funny girl deserves some recognition.

im sorry, but what about taryn manning for orange is the new black. she deserves so much more than these girls and im seriously merrit wevers number on fan

Kaley Cuoco should be here

Allison Janney is a serious contender

I can't see Mayim not getting nominated. She's been phenomenal all season.

Gotta have Mayim Bialik not only nominated but win. She is by far the best comedic actress out there!

Allison Janney YES! Margo Martindale YES!
