The 16th Provincetown Film Festival runs June 18 through June 22 this year and the festival’s first poster has just been revealed. The promo art was created by Ultra Creative, Inc., a graphic design company most notable for their work designing cereal boxes for General Mills and advertisements for Yoplait and Totino’s. Their new festival poster perfectly captures the edgy spirit and attitude of both Provincetown and the festival, which presents a wide array of American and international narrative features,
documentaries and short films and makes a particular point to honor and
preserve Provincetown’s rich and diverse history as an arts colony,
Portuguese fishing village and gay and lesbian mecca.
In addition to showcasing promising new features, the festival is set to honor actress Patricia Clarkson with the 2014 Excellence in Acting Award, David Cronenberg with the 2014 Filmmaker on the Edge award (weeks before he unleashes his new Hollywood satire, “Maps to the Stars”) and actress Debra Winger with the 2014 Faith Hubley Memorial Achievement award.
