VFX Delays Push “Jupiter Ascending” To 2015

VFX Delays Push "Jupiter Ascending" To 2015

Warners announced that The Wachowskis’ “Jupiter Ascending”, starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, has moved out of July 18th and into February (2/6 to be exact) of next year due to special effects delays.  It’s extremely rare to see a film that is only six weeks away from opening day move so far out but Warners’ release plate is fairly full for the rest of the year and the holidays so the company is providing the siblings as much time as needed to make the film a visual experience.  “Jupiter Ascending” will now go on February 6th against Lionsgate’s Johnny Depp starrer, “Mortdecai” and Universal’s fantasy adventure “Seventh Son”.  Warners already had a film on that date, the Liam Neeson thriller “Run All Night”, but that film has been moved to an undisclosed 2015 slot.
