Watch: Activist Grace Lee Boggs Contemplates the Meaning of Revolution in Exclusive Clip from 'American Revolutionary'

Grace Lee, best known for her 2005 autobiographical film “The Grace Lee Project,” returns to documentary filmmaking with “American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs.” The film examines the legacy of the longtime activist, who dedicated her life to a wide range of social movements, including the African American civil rights movement, labor rights, feminism, environmental justice and Asian-American causes.

At 98 years old, Boggs, as seen in this exclusive clip from the film, is still as sharp and fearless as ever — even questioning the meaning of revolution, which is a principle she has long held close to her heart.

“American Revolutionary: The Evolution of Grace Lee Boggs” is scheduled for a limited theatrical release at the Pasadena Laemmle Playhouse 7 from June 20-26th. The film will then make its television debut on June 30th, as part of the PBS series POV.
