Watch: Skrillex Teaches Ron Howard How to DJ in 'Made in America' Trailer

Phase 4 Films has released a trailer for “Made in America,” a behind-the-scenes look at the music festival Jay-Z launched in Philadelphia last year. Directed by Ron Howard, “Made in America” features interviews with key members of the festival’s producing team as well as performance footage of a considerable cross-section of the high-profile talent on last year’s performance roster. Jay-Z, Janelle Monae, Skrillex and Run-D.M.C. are just a few of the names that are prominently featured by the film. As the trailer indicates, even Howard appears onscreen as a character in the festival’s narrative.

“Made in America” premiered at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival last September. Showtime aired the documentary a month after its premiere and Phase 4 Films acquired the North American distribution rights soon after, at the American Film Market.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Made in America” is slated to release this summer – in theaters on July 11th, followed by a VOD and DVD release on July 22nd. The second edition of the “Made in America” festival will include a second market, Los Angeles. The Philadelphia and Los Angeles formats will take place simultaneously on August 30th and 31st. Watch the full trailer below and check out the line-ups for this year’s festival by visiting the “Made in America” website.

Umm Skrillex teaches Ron Howard for about .75 seconds; this film is about that it's not about music anymore, it's blinding flashing lights and fireworks.
