The major roadblock faced by many aspiring and independent filmmakers is managing to produce professional work on such a low budget. Well, that challenge got a little bit easier. Originally on the market for just shy of $1000, the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera will temporarily be available for $495. The device, which is a product of Blackmagic Design, is compatible with various accessories such as Super 16 cinema lenses and Micro Four Thirds lenses, not that add-ons are necessary.
The 1080HD camera was designed for convenience and ease of use regarding its small size, hence its name. It has a 13-stop dynamic range and comes with an easy to use LCD screen for creatives to configure camera settings as they wish. “This compact design allows the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera to be
used in more situations where a larger camera would not be practical,” said Blackmagic Design in announcing the news. “It’s so small that it can be used in situations in the field where a
