BOI WEEKLY: Release Schedule Changes..."Black Mass", "Fast and the Furious 7", Insidious 3" and More

This week’s release schedule changes includes a gear shift for “Fast and Furious 7”, dates for “Black Mass” and “Little Boy” and three changes from Focus.

FAST AND THE FURIOUS 7—UNIVERSAL—IN 4/3/15   OUT 4/10/15
Universal moves FF7 up a week to take advantage of the Easter holiday.  The film returns Vin Diesel, the late Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez behind the wheel and adds Jason Statham and the ever cool Kurt Russell for even more star power under the hood.

INSIDIOUS 3—FOCUS—IN 5/29/15   OUT 4/3/15
Moves onto a date that currently only features Paramount’s animated monster truck movie.

SELFLESS—FOCUS—IN 4/17/15   OUT 2/27/15
Director Tarsem Singh’s sci-fi drama with Ryan Reynolds moves to Earth Day week vs. “Paul Blart Mall Cop 2” and BV’s “Monkey Kingdom”

BLACK SEA—FOCUS—IN 1/23/15 LTD
Kevin MacDonald directed one of my favorite movies of 2003, “Touching The Void”, and this time out he has Jude Law as a renegade submarine captain in this treasure thriller.

HILLSONG: LET HOPE RISE—WARNER BROTHERS—IN 4/3/15
Inspirational drama is counter programming to FF7

LITTLE BOY—OPEN ROAD—IN 2/27/15
Emily Watson, Kevin James drama takes on Fox’s “Hitman Agent 47” and Will Smith’s “Focus” from Warners

BLACK MASS (UNTITLED WHITEY BULGER FILM)—WARNER BROTHERS—IN 9/18/15
Whatever the title is, I can’t wait.  Johnny Depp as Boston’s notorious crime boss finally has a date and the only competition will be watching Jason Clarke and Josh Brolin tackle “Everest”.

BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP—CLARIUS—IN 9/12/14
Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman drama goes up against WB’s “Dolphin Tale 2”, Sony/SG’s “No Good Deed” and Universal’s “Search Party” on an unusually jammed mid September date.

THE PYRAMID—FOX—IN 12/5/14
There’s always room in early December for a quick burn horror film and Fox has the week practically to itself other than the limited release of “Wild” with Reese Witherspoon.
