Based on the beloved novel by Gillian Flynn, "Gone Girl" is a mystery that tries to determine whether Nick Dunne, a seemingly perfect husband, has killed his wife Amy after she suddenly goes missing. Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris star.

NYFF had previously announced the retrospective, "Joseph L. Mankiewicz: The Essential Iconoclast," as well as a few selections in the Revivals section, which include "Burroughs: The Movie," "The Color of Pomegranates," "Hiroshima Mon Amour" and "Once Upon a Time in America."

Running 17 days, NYFF will take place from September 26-October 12th. "Gone Girl" will be released in theaters on October 3rd.
