Dealflicks, a self-proclaimed “Priceline for movie tickets”, has raised $1.7 million in seed funding to launch an app based discounted movie ticket and concessions service which aims to bring users information on what local movie theatres are offering for discounts in their respective areas. The service, at this point, is fairly bare bones as there are no major theatre chains participating in the program in Greater Los Angeles and the location total sits at only 400. The company has made inroads in smaller towns and is looking to add 1-2 theatres every day, according to Dealflicks founder Sean Wycliffe. The company is worth watching, as $1.7 million is serious cash and investors include some heavy 500 Startups companies such as Siemer Ventures and Rubicon VC.
