With the second season of Showtime’s dramatic “The Masters of Sex” opening Sunday night, this fan-made infographic is seeking to generate buzz for the based-on-true-events show.

Just how true is it? Bill Masters and Virginia Johnson revolutionized recreational sex with their groundbreaking research in the mid-twentieth century, but some critics of the show point out just how hard some parts are to believe. “The things that are the most shocking in our show are true,” said Lizzy Caplan, who plays Johnson. I know spoiler alerts are dumb.. and this is based of a novel. but I'm bummed to have learned the last fact.


Does seem strange that Masters' son struggled in the same area his father specialized in. Parenting was clearly not Masters' strong suit, among other things.


The supposition that Masters' son was a sexual deviant as a consequence of his father's profession is an absurd conclusion that assumes causation in place of the obvious correlation.
