New Images From Ridley Scott’s 'Exodus: Gods And Kings' Starring Christian Bale

"I guess I didn’t pay attention in Sunday School," Ridley Scott told Entertainment Weekly recently about the depth of the story he’ll explore in "Exodus: Gods And Kings." "There was so much I had forgotten. It’s a marvelous human story about change. There are massive questions here. You treat it with great respect."

The starry cast of Christian BaleJoel Edgerton, Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, John Turturro and Sigourney Weaver are part of the ensemble that will chronicle the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt as led by Moses and related in the Old Testament Book of Exodus.

It’s been a long time since a Ridley Scott film made Oscar waves, but 20th Century Fox will release "Exodus: Gods and Kings" on December 12th, right in the heart of Oscar season. Check out the new images via EW below.

It a movie based on non historical evidence what soever, but it is pure escapism. I will definitely be going to see it.
As an Egyptologist, I can tell you that there is no factual evidence for a mass exodus, if that many persons left Egypt, then the whole society would have collapsed and Egypt's enemies would have flooded into Egypt and taken over the nation.
Israel did not exist as a nation during the time of Rameses. The first mention of Israel is on the so-called Merenptah stele, and that is not a very flattering comment either.
We must also remember, that there is no historical evidence for Moses either, and Moses is only half a name. (Moses means "Born of")
More than likely, the Semitic tribes left Egypt when the Hyksos were ousted from the Country. But there were not hundreds of thousands as some people would have us think.

Can Steve McQueen remake it with Chiwetel Ejiofor as Moses and Shemar Moore as Ramses? Giancarlo Esposito for Seti and Liya Kebede for Queen Tuya as well.

White people are assholes. Can I have a movie to feel like a hero too?

I studied Egyptian art history in college, and I didn't know that all the dark skin people depicted in that art, were just white people in dark skin makeup. I thought for sure that white people didn't integrate into that society until thousands of years later. But I guess in Hollywood, apparently you cant have a movie without a white cast, and make any money. Even when that movie is set in ancient Egypt, where white people didn't exist. White supremcacy at its finest. Plus you have a guy named CHRISTIAN playing the role of a Hebrew. I better not ever hear another white person complaining about the Human Torch being a black.

Not holding my breath for this. Looks silly.

According to Box Office Mojo, the title has been changed back to simply "Exodus".
