Ridley Scott Talks Through ‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ Trailer and Digital Magic (VIDEOS)

It’s been a while since Ridley Scott’s epic "Gladiator" took home the Best Picture Oscar back in 2001. Anyone who’s seen that or "Kingdom of Heaven" or "Robin Hood" can easily conjure the look, feel and scale of Scott’s return to the sword-and-sandal genre with the Biblical "Exodus: Gods and Kings."  Lo and behold, see the first trailer below (the poster definitely reaches for a "300" feel).
Whatever you think of the trailer —  Christian Bale in gravel-voice mode vs. bald Joel Edgerton as Ramses as brother-vs-brother, white actors playing Middle Easterners for the millionth time —check out this Empire feature offering a behind-the-scenes look at what Scott has planned. We love it when a technology-obsessed director talks about digital landscapes interacting with physical objects, the use of digital, and other related material.
Though Fox tore the official preview off YouTube, Variety has it nicely embedded. Watch below. The movie is far from a hack job— and, during the Christmas season, that counts for something.

Basically distributors make deals with iTunes or whatever for exclusives on early trailers which are then eventually released on youtube. In the meantime, who can fault eager-beavers who want to share? 'Twas ever thus.

This whole post should be deleted as the YouTube clip was removed due to a copyright claim. Once again Indiewire is using content that they should have known upon embedding was not legally reproduced in the first place. It's very anti-creator to do so.
