TIFF Trailer: Colin Farrell Has Nasty Thoughts About Jessica Chastain In ‘Miss Julie’

TIFF Trailer: Colin Farrell Has Nasty Thoughts About Jessica Chastain In 'Miss Julie'

One that we knew had to turn up somewhere on the festival circuit in 2014, Liv Ullman‘s “Miss Julie” will unfold in grand fashion as a World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. And get your excitement stoked a little bit further, the first trailer for the film has arrived.

As you know, Colin Farrell, Jessica Chastain and Samantha Morton lead the drama, based on the acclaimed play about a torrid love affair that spans a forbidden class divide. Here’s the official synopsis: A country estate in Ireland in the 1880s. Over the course of one midsummer night, Miss Julie explores the brutal, charged power struggle between a young aristocratic woman and her father’s valet.

No distribution for this one yet, but we’re sure that this will be a hot acquisition title. Watch below. [Vlicioius]

Wow, this looks excellent!

Wow, it definitely has this Bergman-esque feeling I already adore. It looks really terrific and Jessica Chastain's performance seems impeccable, as always. Give this woman an Oscar as soon as possible! As for Colin Farrell, he obviously has in his hands the role he always deserved. And by the way, what's all this accent bullshit everyone's talking about? August Strindberg's original play was set in 19th-century Sweden and Liv Ullmann has relocated the action to Ireland of the same period, when the Irish were servants to the aristocratic Anglo-Irish land owners. Therefore, Colin Farrell's Northern Irish accent and Jessica Chastain's softer, gentler, more cultured accent sound great. I mean, really, some people should probably do some research before spewing their venom online for no reason at all.

Mess Julie. Accent all over the place. Chastain only chance is A most violent year.

Looks like another The Heiress to Chastain.

This pure theatrical cinema. Hand down: Chastain is a sure front-runner for Oscar, as well as a time ror C. Farrell for supporting actor nomination.

Farrell's all over the place and Chastain's accent work is horrendous.

I know that everyone has their bets on Amy Adams in Big Eyes. But there's no denying that this is Chastain's year. Eleanor Rigby, A Most Violent Year and Miss Julie. She looks fantastic on this. Same goes for Samantha Morton.
