Watch Trailer For the Quirky, Funny Short Film 'Ackee & Saltfish'

Here’s the trailer for the an upcoming UK-made short film, “Ackee & Saltfish,” which one could definitely call quirky.

Judging from the trailer, it has a loose-limbed, free-flowing, improvisational tone that I found
similar to Robert Altman films. Just when you think you know where it’s going, it shifts and goes into a different direction altogether.

Starring Michelle Tiwo and Vanessa Babirye, and written,
directed and photographed by Cecile Emeke, the film deals with two best friends,
Olivia and Rachel, spending a sunny day in east London, on their way to pick up
some food, after Rachel forgets to soak the saltfish.

That’s it; but their comedic rambling conversation about
everything and anything, is the main focus of the film.

The film is scheduled to be released later this summer. To keep up with the latest developments, you can check out the film’s website

That reminds me, I will be having ackee & saltfish tomorrow for breakfast.
Well, I found this funny and I write plays so I am dialogue rich. The comedic rambling is what makes it so darn funny!

Good work from Cecile. However, I like to lean towards films with less dialogue. Films like the Coen Brothers 'No Country For Old Men'. Check out a Teaser of my recent non-dialogue short film 'Harmattan Pawpaw' on vimeo.

I love this trailer. If the short is as entertaining as the trailer suggest, this will be as good as Sasheer and Nicole Bryer's "Pursuit of Sexiness". Perhaps even better.

Nice I love it -a breath of fresh air and the two characters make it in just that short clip alone (reminds me of She's Got To Have It )in that it is so simple and yet so good to look at
