Woody Allen's Next Film Reportedly A Serious Murder Mystery, Plus New Pics & Clip From 'Magic In The Moonlight'

As one movie opens, another begins production, and that’s the way it’s been with Woody Allen for years. His latest Euro jaunt, “Magic In The Moonlight,” heads to theatres this weekend. Meanwhile, the director is in Rhode Island filming his latest, starring new muse Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix among many others. And it looks like the director is headed back into dramatic territory.

The film’s executive producer Ron Chez told the Chicago Sun Times that the new film is “a murder mystery, set on a college campus,” with the Chicago Tribune adding that it’s a “serious-ish drama.” And that’s about all the details there are at the moment, but maybe it’s something in the vein of “Match Point“? We’d be okay with that.

Until there’s more news, here’s some more pics and a clip from “Magic In The Moonlight,” which starts rolling out in limited release today. Here’s our review. [Woody Allen Pages]
