Harold Perrineau Leads a Group on a Journey of Survival Across Post-Apocalyptic USA in Trailer for 'Z Nation'

Harold Perrineau and Kellita Smith are part of the ensemble cast for Syfy’s upcoming “Z Nation,” an all-new zombie series set to debut in the fall.

From production company The Asylum (“Sharknado”), the 13-episode action-horror series starts 3 years after a zombie virus has gutted the country, as a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood. The ragtag band embarks on a journey of survival across three thousand miles of rusted-out post-apocalyptic America.

Perrineau will play Hammond, the leader of the group, as they head west, from New York to California. Smith will play Addy – a disparate wanderer drawn to the team to survive.

Tom Everett Scott, DJ Qualls, and Michael Welch also star in the drama, which is coming to Syfy in September.

I totally agree with you TroubleMaker. I am so excited to see this new series. It looks interesting and has a different feel to it. I can't wait to watch "Z Nation!!!!"

What's the difference between this and The Walking Dead, aside from the fact that it was produced by people who proudly, deliberately, and unashamedly make bad movies whose success is defined by how many stupid tweets they generate?

I'm happy to see two black actors working in a Zombie/horror series for a change! I just wish we can get a break from rom-coms, church & crime dramas, biopics and slave movies. I would love to see more black actors in Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Horror, biblical drama, Suspense/Mystery and Thrillers.
