Nana Mensah, Star of 'An African City' Leads Dark Comedy 'Queen of Glory' (To Be Shot by S&A Contributor Cybel Martin)

"Queen of Glory," the first feature film under the Adelos Media banner,
will begin production this month, in the Pelham Parkway neighborhood in the Bronx (NYC).

Described as “a dark comedy about a Christian bookstore,” the film follows Sarah Obeng, a PhD candidate at Columbia University, who is leaving her program to follow her married lover and former professor to Ohio. When her mother dies suddenly, Sarah becomes to sole proprietor of King of Glory, a Christian bookstore in the Pelham Parkway neighborhood in the Bronx. Life in the bookstore sparks both painful and hilarious lessons as Sarah attempts to equalize in the wake of her mother’s death.

The film will be directed by Nana Mensah, who also penned the script, and will be starring in the lead role.

Mensah is known for the hit YouTube series, "An
African City," in which she starred. She has also gained considerable momentum in Nollywood/Ghallywood circles, after her star-making
turn opposite John Dumelo and Joselyn Dumas in Shirley Frimpong Manso’s "Love or Something Like," It
earlier this year.

Cybel Martin (columnist for this blog) is the Director of Photography.

The film will be produced by Jamund Washington of last year’s smash Independent Spirit Award
nominee, "Gimme the Loot," as well as by UK-based director Baff Akoto and
Anya Migdal of Adelos Media.
