Sherri Shepard Will Play the Wicked Stepmother Opposite Keke Palmer's Cinderella

Sherri Shepard will take over the role of the wicked stepmother in the Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s "Cinderella," producers announced Aug. 5. She joins actress Keke Palmer, who, as was announced yesterday, will step into the title role in early September.

Shepard who is leaving "The View" this month, after serving as co-host for 8 years, will officially join the "Cinderella" cast as Madame on September 9 – the same date that Keke Palmer will also make her Broadway debut in the show’s title role.

In terms of stage credits, Shepard was seen in the Off-Broadway run of "Love, Loss and What I Wore."

I understand Sherri is going to miss over 10 performances including the day I am brining a group, why would they get a star that will be missing that many performances. Will there be another star playing that role or why even sign her if she is not going to be there. Well we are coming to see KeKe and support her. Just wondered about Sherri
