“Fury”, from “End of Watch” director David Ayer, had been slated for a rather light November 14th playdate, where it faced competition from Relativity’s “Beyond The Lights” and Universal’s “Dumb and Dumber To” and now it moves onto the chock-a-block date of October 17th that is currently occupied by Relativity’s “Best of Me”, Fox’s animated “Book of Life”, Open Road’s “Nightcrawler” and “Dracula Untold”. Whew. Figure one of those four films to move now that Brad’s on their date.
Meanwhile back at the raunch, Adam Sandler’s video game comedy “Pixels” has vacated its May 15, 2015 slot, where it was to vie against “Mad Max: Fury Road” and “Pitch Perfect 2” and onto a July 24th date where it will face off against Fox’s “Poltergeist” reboot and the Judd Apatow produced “Trainwreck” with stand-up comedian Amy Schumer. That’s an especially smart move by Sony as “Max” would have had a stranglehold on the men and “PP2: is a no-brainer for the women.
