Crowdfund This: Christian-Themed Drama ‘Keep The Faith’

We have to
admit that we do have a special interest in projects created by long time, faithful
readers, and contributors to S &A; Here is another example.

Currently in post-production is the Christian-themed drama, “Keep the Faith,” written and directed by
L.A. based actor/director Choice Skinner, who is a long time reader and
commenter to the site.

Unlike his previous
short film, “Brotherly Love,” “Faith” is a more ambitious, complex feature
length film which explores what happens when a young man, Timothy, who, in the
directors words “believes in the pleasures that only street life can bring him,” sees his life turned upside down, when a friend from the past, and someone he meets later,
show him another way to live.

Skinner says
he made the film because he “wanted to have black leads of a Christian
film [since they] never deal with or
focus on young urban situations and their slice of life… and also to create the
opportunity for young black talent to work on deep and powerful material.

He also believes that Faith will “give people an understanding of redemptive quality and integrity – something which is desperately needed and unfortunately missing in the hip hop
influenced culture of today.”

Skinner
has just started a Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds for the post-production
of the film, aiming to hit the film
festival circuit, before nationwide distribution.
