Keegan-Michael Key and Regina Hall Join New Line’s National Lampoon's 'Vacation' Reboot

Keegan-Michael Key and Regina Hall have joined New Line’s reboot of National Lampoon’s “Vacation,” joining Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, and Leslie Mann, in a film that will be directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, their feature directorial debut, from a script that they also penned.

The reboot will tell the story of a grown-up Rusty Griswold (played by Ed Helms) who takes his wife (Christina Applegate) on a cross-country road trip to Walley World, an amusement park, similar to one he took as a kid with his parents, as played by Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo in the original film.

Keegan-Michael Key and Regina Hall will play Griswold family friends.

David Dobkin is producing through his David Dobkin Productions alongside Chris Bender. Jeff Kleeman and Marc Fisher are executive producing.

And the crowd goes mild. I guess they know people will watch anything even though the market is flooded with the same story line.

I see no need to make a another "National Lampoon’s Vacation" movie. The industry just doesn’t know what to make anymore!

This sounds like an awful idea. Another silly comedy with a thin storyline. Hasn’t the market been saturated yet! Can we get an original idea going?
