New York Times bestselling author Carl Weber has been
tapped to adapt four of his best-selling novels to screenplays along with three of Carl’s original
screenplays in a Seven picture deal with Tri Destined Studios’ ND Brown and Trey Haley.
The Man in 3B, the team’s first feature film, was shot in Los Angeles and is currently in the final
stages of post-production. The movie stars Lamman Rucker, the standout star of Tyler Perry’s
Why Did I Get Married Too, DB Woodside best known for his role as President of the United
States on the Fox television hit drama ’24’ and is currently on USA’s ‘Suits’, Iconic actor Billy
Dee Williams of Star Wars and Lady Sings the Blues fame and Christian Keyes of Beauty and
The Beast and BET’s Let’s Stay Together. The Man in 3B is directed by Trey Haley and
produced by ND Brown and Carl Weber at the helm.
Carl Weber is one of a handful of African American authors who consistently appear on the New
York Times bestseller list year after year. Moving from novels to films, Weber’s screenplay brings
to life the secrets and surprises of The Man is 3B, a sexy mystery about Daryl Graham (Lamman
Rucker) and the cast of colorful neighbors who reside in his Queens, New York apartment
building. In this tale of mystery and murder, we watch as the lives of Weber’s carefully crafted
characters are turned upside down, each for a different reasons, but all of them having something

Actress Kellita Smith (Bernie Mac Show, First Family) also stars in the film as Detective
Anderson alongside DB Woodside (Detective Thomas). Veteran actresses Marla Gibbs (“The
Jefferson’s”) and Jackée Harry both from the 1980’s sitcom “227,” also shine. Portraying the rest
of Graham’s neighbors are Anthony Montgomery (best known for his long-running role on the
“Star Trek” series “Enterprise”), Brely Evans (Sparkle, BET’s “Being Mary Jane” ), Nafessa
Williams (“One Life to Live”), Robert Ri’chard (Coach Carter, UPN’s “One on One”), James
Black (“Anger Management”), Trisha Man (The Last Fall) and R&B Singer Olivia Longott.
