I’m sure that, by now, most of you (at least those who are interested in the movie), have seen the first teaser trailer for likely one of the most anticipated films of 2015 (if not THE most anticipated), “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
If not, it’s embedded below.
Needless to say, it’s got fanboys and girls all orgasmic over what’s to come, as speculation on what the trailer doesn’t show, and/or hints at, has taken over the Internet!
One key *find* that Marvel universe pros have highlighted is that, the much-anticipated big screen introduction of the superhero we all know as Black Panther, just might happen in “Age of Ultron.”
More after the below image…
Why? Well, as those in-the-know shared with me via email, based on the trailer, it looks like Andy Serkis’ role (which has long been kept a secret) is revealed. Specifically, I’m told that Serkis just might be playing Ulysses Klaw. The image just above is a frame from the trailer, which shows Serkis looking very much like the animated version of Ulysses Klaw, right next to him in the diptych. The connection here is that, assuming Serkis is indeed Ulysses Klaw, it could then mean that Black Panther might be introduced in the movie as well, because, Klaw is Black Panther’s arch-enemy!
Also, as one super sleuth pointed out to me, Ultron is made out of, and is on the hunt for, a super-duper metal called Vibranium (maybe for an upgrade), which is the indestructible alloy that Captain America’s shield is also made out of. And as fans would already know well, Vibranium, in the Marvel universe, can only be found in one place: Wakanda, the home of Black Panther. So, again, assuming all of this holds, “Age of Ultron” may serve as a backdoor intro to Black Panther.
We already know that a Black Panther movie is in development at Marvel Studios, and that Disney/Marvel has dated several untitled superhero projects set to be released over the next 5 years. We can only assume that Black Panther will be one of them (emphasis on the word “assume”), and “Age of Ultron” may offer us our first tease.
So that leaves us to speculate even further: if the above is all true, then that would mean an actor was indeed cast as Black Panther, but Marvel/Disney/the cast and crew, have managed to keep it secret for this long. Who could that actor be? Who knows. But Chadwick Boseman (“42,” “Get on Up”) is the most obvious, given that his name has come up more than a few times in the last 8 months, as Marvel’s choice for the part. But obviously nothing has ever been confirmed.
I’d love to read what all you fanboys and girls think of all this speculation.
“Avengers: Age of Ultron” is set for a May 1, 2015 release.
