Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have teamed up with New Line to make what will be their first film together – titled “Keanu,” (no, not named after Actor Keanu Reeves), it’s about a kidnapped kitten, and the 2 friends who pose as drug dealers to infiltrate the criminal underworld in order to rescue it.
New Line is eyeing Peter Atencio (director of the “Key & Peele” show) to direct “Keanu,” from a script penned by Peele and “Key & Peele” writer Alex Rubens.
This news comes a few weeks after Key and Peele were reportedly circling a “Police Academy” reboot with Judd Apatow, amongst other feature film projects.
In addition to starring, Key and Peele will also produce “Keanu,” with Peter Principato, Paul Young and Joel Zadak serving as executive producers.
Michael Disco and Sam Brown will oversee the project for New Line.
