‘Terminator: Genisys’ Cast Gets Ready For Battle In New Pics

'Terminator: Genisys' Cast Gets Ready For Battle In New Pics

Yesterday, the first look at “Terminator: Genisys” arrived and fans were not happy. From the smiling Terminator to the generic, glossy blockbuster look, many felt it was a far cry from the more distinct vision James Cameron created in the first two films of the series. And fans were further concerned with the details revealed about the twist being taken with Sarah Connor (though I’d say it’s no more or less ridiculous than “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” ret-conning their timeline or any Marvel movie plot, but I digress). And today, here come a couple more images which will surely continue the dismayed chatter.

In fairness, most of these images from EW look more like promo images than stills from a finished movie. That being said, Emilia Clarke and Matt Smith armed with guns and yelling isn’t exactly the most compelling first look for a movie that is aiming to reinvigorate a diluted blockbuster brand. “In our minds there was never a version of this movie that we were making without Arnold Schwarzenegger,” producer David Ellison said about taking on this challenge.

“I knew eventually that another Terminator was going to get made,” Arnold Schwarzenegger said, adding with a bit of arrogance perhaps that, “People always have to go through that painful experience of doing a sequel, or something like that, without me.” Okay dude.

Anyway, marketing is a long tail game (the budget for the movie alone is $170 million, and we’re sure the advertising bucks will be sizable), and there’s still plenty of time until next summer when this movie arrives. But hey Paramount, if you want to change the tide of opinion, the first trailer for this movie better be killer…

“Terminator: Genisys” arrives on July 1, 2015. Update 12/2: Oh hey, the new motion  poster is below too. Update 12/3: Watch a quick teaser of tomorrow’s trailer.

T1001 is pissed

Welcome to Wanksville. Those pics are godawful — they somehow even make Jason Clarke (one of the best actors working today) look DUMB.

My enthusiasm for this film was just shot dead -_-

I love pictures of hollywood actors holding plastic guns and making silly faces! Hilarious!

Amazing, I love matt smith, he is so hot

Emperor Zerg Rush

Jai Courtney is like an older Taylor Lautner. Hollywood thinks his career is going to go big places but he’s going to sink into obscurity quicker than they anticipate.

Why attack a movie when the only thing you can base your judgments off are promo pictures? Watch the movie when it comes out and make your opinions then, but please don’t be mean.

so these were taken at the Top Gear test track right? also, it helps to point your gun at what you’re looking at too kill it… not the floor

This is just great! These photos are amazing! <33 matt smith looks awesome in it, he is so hot, im so exited, cant wait :)

A joke… Halloweening… right?

I can’t get over how tacky these pictures are. Here’s hoping they actually put some genuine thought into the cinematography of the film.

I don’t get these pics. Did they decide to just find an empty airfield and take them and thought, "This will look amazing!" "Let’s not have any real background at all! Just scream at the camera and they’ll get how cool it is!" Terrible…

OMG !!! OMG !!! I’m almost devastated …horrible pictures !!! this must be some king of joke ???

wonderful promos for the terminator broadway show! bravo!!

It´s supposed to be funny, right? Like this is some kind of comedy? If not, well, this marks the dead of the film career of both Doctor Who and the mother of Dragons…
